F-Gas
F-Gas-regulation
The EU Regulation No. 517/2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases has been in force in Europe since 1 January 2015. By year 2030, the F-Gas regulation aims to reduce the industrial sector emissions by 70 per cent as compared to 1990 and thereby reduce the CO2equivalent of 70 million tons to 35 million tons.
How will this impact you?
By the year 2030, the sales volume of F-Gas refrigerants will be reduced to one fifth of the current sales volume! The availability of many refrigerants is already limited and prices in the market are set to increase.
In many cases, there is a ban on use even if technically feasible and climate-friendly alternatives are available. An example is the ban on F-Gas refrigerant with a GWP of over 2500 for maintenance and commissioning of refrigeration systems with a filling capacity of 40 tons or more CO2-equivalent from 1 January 2020.
Regulations for leak testing, certification, disposal and marking means significantly higher maintenance effort for you and higher costs for the operator.

„If it is not possible to change over to natural refrigerants, TEKO can offer you refrigeration units using F-Gas-refrigerants that are not banned as yet. As an alternative to R 404A, you can use units and assemblies with R 449A or R 448A refrigerants, and for R 134a use the alternatives R 450A or R 513A. Do take into consideration the design criteria for cooling capacity, piping and heat exchangers. Depending on your requirements, you will get the tried and tested TEKO multi compressor system of two to six compressors – (semi) hermetically or screws – with a wide range of options. Needless to say, with an integrated switch cabinet and the Wurm-control system or with a weather-proof housing. For a perfectly configured overall package, we offer you a large selection of heat exchangers, several of them directly from the warehouse in Altenstadt. The advantages for you are reliable, long-lasting componentswith short delivery times. Our extensive partnership network of wholesalers in Europe ensures a comprehensive supply of installation and maintenance components for you.”- Steffen Schreiber (Sales Manager North)
