Dirk Born – Head of Construction

16. December 2020

Before joining TEKO, Dirk Born was responsible for designing, selling and manufacturing metal-worked products – including TEKO base frames and housing. Based on the close contact he had with TEKO, he decided to seek a career change in August 2020 and took over as Head of Construction. Thanks to his comprehensive expertise in metal production, he complements our design team perfectly.

Redaktion: Dirk, you have taken over as Head of Design at TEKO. How did you discover TEKO?

Dirk: In my previous job in the metal industry, TEKO was one of my customers. I therefore knew the technical focus and it always seemed very interesting and challenging to me. When I made the decision to reorient myself professionally – taking on a more technically oriented role – I found out through conversations with TEKO employees that the company was looking for a new Head of Design. So I applied without further ado and was fortunately offered the position.

Redaktion: What do you particularly like about the role?

Dirk: The refrigeration industry itself – it has huge potential for technical development. Another point is my team of colleagues with their great technical expertise and the continuous desire to improve things further.

Redaktion: What are your plans for the future at TEKO?

Dirk: I want to play my part to design products that are more unique, refined and innovative and to establish TEKO’s design department as a driver of innovation.

Redaktion: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Dirk: I am looking forward to sharing the fun of technical design with others and new employees at TEKO.

Redaktion: Dirk, thank you very much for your inspiring words. We wish you every success and look forward to excellent cooperation.
