In January 2021, it was once again time for: the end of training and time for exams! Both Denise Ritschel and Jana Schäfer shortened their training as industrial clerks from 3 to 2.5 years and passed their exams with flying colours. We are delighted that both of them will remain part of the TEKO team and will support us in different areas immediately after their training.
After completing her training, Jana Schäfer started in Internal Sales (quotation and order management). In her position, she is the direct contact person for our customers and creates quotes, records orders and takes care of all other issues related to order processing.
Denise Ritschel was able to gain a lot of experience in Financial Accounting in the last few months of her training before taking up a permanent position in this area. In addition to asset accounting and recurrent bookings, she is responsible for travel expenses and credit card accounts as well as cash management.
In an interview with the two of them, we get a little insight into life as an apprentice at TEKO.
How was your training experience at TEKO? What did you especially enjoy?
Jana: During my apprenticeship, I gained insights into all commercial areas. On the one hand, it was very varied and, on the other hand, it also helped me to fully understand the company’s processes. In addition to sales activities – where I was fortunately taken on – I had a lot of fun organising training fairs and events such as Girls & Boys Day.
Denise: It was the same for me – getting to know the individual areas of the company was very helpful in understanding the processes. It also helps you find out what suits you best. I also think that the in-house training and detailed exam preparation received during the apprenticeship are great. Cohesion between the trainees is very good and, depending on the area, you are able to work very independently and take on your own responsibilities.
Was it clear to both of you that you wanted to stay with TEKO? What convinced you?
Denise: I really enjoyed the training and it enabled me to get to know and appreciate TEKO. It was clear to me that I wanted to stay on after my apprenticeship. I’m interested in financial accounting and would like to gain work experience here. It has worked out well because TEKO needed support in this role.
Jana: It was clear to me also that I wanted to stay at TEKO after my apprenticeship. You are familiar with the people and the processes… that’s why I was very pleased that the takeover worked so well after my apprenticeship and that I was able to fill the vacancy in quotation and order management.
Thank you for the brief interview! We are pleased that you are part of the TEKO team and wish you all the best for the future!
